Counter flow drum washing barrels - ST

Counter flow drum washing barrels, mod. ST, are used to wash very dirty materials.
The material proceeds counter flow, which is opposite to water movement. The machine is made up of a washing cylinder resting horizontally on tyres moved by a gear motor drive unit giving the cylinder the rotating movement necessary for the material to get washed and proceed through. The material gets into the first cylinder chamber where a first wash takes place. Several movable paddles mix the material energetically and make it go ahead towards the decanting buckets. These buckets have a perforated plate bottom and draw out the washed material then deposit it into the second cylinder chamber where a further washing and rinse take place with an abundant clean water spray. Other buckets, also having a perforated plate bottom, take the material to the discharge chute already arranged on the machine. The whole cylinder is lined with interchangeable anti-wear steel armours. To avoid that used water could keep a certain quantity of fine material, it should be sent to a recovery machine for further treatment.

Inclined counter flow washing barrels - STC

Inclined counter flow washing barrels, mod. STC, are employed to wash very dirty materials.
Washing cylinder is tilted and the inclination can be adjusted according to the level of water required inside the machine. This washing cylinder is supported, on the loading side, by sets of oscillating wheels, whereas, on the unloading side, it is kept in the working position by radial axial bearings. Both a crown-piston system and a gear motor drive unit make the cylinder rotate. The material inside the cylinder proceeds counter flow, thanks to a set of suited coils, which energetically mixes the material and pushes it towards the cylinder end under a continuous shower. At this point the material will be above the water level and drained this way, it will flow to the outlet. To avoid that used water could keep a certain quantity of fine material, it should be sent to a recovery machine for further treatment.
